Can someone explain this "are you interested" thing?

Specifically, I registered a new user, uploaded a picture of a cute animal i.e. manifestly not me, added "are you interested" to my applications, and, err, that's it.

Apparently there are at least three people in cyberspaceland interested in shagging me. Based on what is palpably zero information, other than the fact that I am male (I could be 85 years old for all they know!).

Is "slappers" a politically incorrect term these days?
