"Damien is not in control of what has been said in the press," the Canaries boss told the Eastern Daily Press.

"I've spoken to him and he's very content at this football club. He's a Norwich City player and is avoiding all the speculation.

"He's very happy to be here and is enjoying his training, which is very important from my point of view. He just wants to get on with his football and, great credit to the boy, he has looked very, very good in training up until now.

"He hasn't come out and said anything himself and I think that says something about the lad. He is just focusing on where he's at.

"I've not got any worries about where Damien will be on the first day of the season. He will be a Norwich City player."
