I think if we had a different attitude, we could go as far as was possible, bank a few bob, and hopefully draw a top side. And if other, mainly Prem clubs had a different attitude, they'd stand a real chance of turning over one of the Big Four every now and then - or of taking advantage of a relatively kind draw. See, for an example of what's possible, West Ham: just seconds from winning it. But nah, they lost - so I bet their fans wished they hadn't bothered with the comp in the first place, eh?

See also, for an example of the disgraceful attitude I mentioned, Reading: last season was the best in their entire history. But were they interested in the Cup? Heck, were they even interested in qualifying for Europe? No, on both counts. Unbelievable.
