I was mascot twice.

Once at Blackburn away, not sure what year but it was early to mid 90s (I'm rubbish at remembering dates!). I think for evening KO away matches, there was no junior canaries coach organised so they didn't have mascots. My dad just rang the club a day or two before and asked if I could do it as we lived in Bolton and would be going to the match anyway. They said yeah that's fine which was obviously great news! I got changed in the referee's room before the match, the walls of which were covered in porn!! I then got presented with a commemorative plate by Colin Hendry before hitting the pitch with the players. John Deehan let me in to the dressing room to listen to the pre-game talk, which basically consisted of him swearing a lot! We went on to win the match 3-2 I think with Sutton getting at least one goal, so it obviously worked!

I was mascot again, I think the season after, which was for a Coca-Cola Cup game against Bolton. We lost 1-0 and it was a dreadful game. Before the match I got interviewed pitchside by Dave "Ding Dong Do" Higson of Fantasy Football fame, which I think is the highlight of my career thus far! I remember I got really annoyed as we were lining up to go out before the match because I had a great centre parting back in those days and John Newsome messed my hair up!! I've never forgiven him for it!
