If he was on a 1 year deal with an option of a further 2 or 3 years, why have we just let him go? We have to pay up the remainder of his 1 year contract anyway, so why not just allow the option to expire at the end of the season? Unless we've struck a deal to pay up only a portion of the remainder to allow him to return home and find another club?
I remember XXL saying that he looked a bit lonely at Colney and the Pink Un article suggests he never quite settled, so maybe it's a mutual termination?
