I'd kind of do both.

From my personal opinion (and this will change on employer) that's something I'd be very interested to see on a CV.
Other employers probably wouldn't be though.

Worst thing to do is probably try and gloss over it, make it clear why the Gap was there, and give some info on what you did.
I must stress though that's what I'd like to see, doesn't follow that everyone would.
