FAO: MBK re Sri lanka

Spoke to my little Sri Lankan chum and he suggests the usual tourist route of Bentota, Hikkaduwa (beaches) Galle, his home town, also has good beaches. Don’t stress about Matara as it is not all it is cracked up to be. Hambantota is the place to go for Safaris (elephant) and Nuwera Eliya and Kandy for the historical gig (particularly Kandy apparently is a must see). Weather this time of year is a nice 28-30 with some rain. If taking a cab then use the airport ones as they are the safest and carry the least risk of being hijacked by those3 pesky tamil tigers (grrr). Sorry if that’s a bit vague, but he wasn’t (like most locals) too familiar with his own turf! Bonne vacances.

Oh, and avoid the north of course.
