Read Worthy's comments in the press this morning that Safri is expected to be available for selection against Coventry. Was pleased. Just seen the Francis news. Suddenly good news smacks of desperation.

I've always been of the opinion that Francis doesn't pull his weight all the time, but we can't afford to let someone of his calibre go without a replacement lined up at this stage. We've barely got a midfield as it is. We have a first XI to do well, but no depth. We simply can't expect to go through the season with no injuries/suspensions, and we're expecting to lose Safri during the African Nations Cup anyway. General opinion would suggest a centre midfield pair of Jarrett and Hughes isn't going to get us promoted.

And of course any clubs with midfielders are going to ask double prices now because they know we're desperate.
