Very True!

New Zealand is a new country land wise. It has only risen due to two plates rubbing against each other in more recent times of the Earth's history. Ranigtoto island just 10 mins boat ride off the coast of Auckland is only 600 years old, when it erupted from the sea in a big volcano.

A few shops/houses have collapsed in the East Cape area and a few cars crashed as the shock waves past through.

I have only felt one big quake since living here...its is a very odd experiance with the house shaking...very humbling too when you realise that there is nothing you can do to stop it.
