Because

1) my mother was stupid for allowing me to make the decision at the age of 11 and

2) I'm afraid that at that age I was still feeling a little bit the way the PK character goes on now. Of course, I grew out of it by the time I was 13, as any normal person would. And then kicked myself.

But I can't complain too much. My school was good nevertheless. I attained higher grades than most of the guys I eventually came to know at that public school (through my girlfriend who was at the girls' school), although of course I haven't had the network.

I've made other awful decisions but have been lucky enough to have done pretty well, thank you very much, so I don't really regret it these days.

I bet my life would have been a completely different story though!
