Marcus Evans is a shrewd businessman, and will make money out of this deal - indeed, with his financial nous he has probably covered his costs already by taking on the debt (at a greatly reduced price) and claiming it against tax. However, he stands to make more money if ITFC are successful. We just have to hope that it all works out, and that we reap the benefits.
I'm afraid its a sign of the times - I much preferred the old days when 'small' clubs could compete with the big boys - but Murdoch has ensured that those days are gone forever. As a package, this deal is about as good as it gets without a true fan buying the Club for a thrill. But that only happens in Roy of the Rovers. We'll just have to move with the times, because the only way is down if you don't.
As I said, we hope it works out - you no doubt hope that it doesn't. It'll be an exciting ride whatever happens. Not sure whose fingers are crossed the tightest though.
