OK, help needed, real dilema for saturday

I roight fancy a bit of stuk away on saturday.
Thing is we are meant to be going round a friends saturday night for a traditional 'christmas' meal.
Normally a good night, old friends that we don't see enough of these days, and its great to catch up.

Now i'm thinking It would be wrong to cancel on them last minute, but i'm tempted.
So I go to the missus and mention the game, safe in the knowledge she'll do the right thing and tell me to stop being such a crap friend.
What happens? "we can go if you like, i'm dying to go to a game".
What, WHAT????
She then goes on to explain how we can still have the people staying at ours that are meant to be, and pop over when we get back.

So, as i've been given permission, in fact almost persuaded to go, do i? Or do I do the decent thing and stick to our arrangements and catch up with some of our oldest and best friends?????
