My view

My sympathies are with Carragher. He’s been at the heart of a team that has got to two Chumps League finals, been one of the most consistent centre backs in the Prem and sees much less players played ahead of him.

He got a game every now and then at right back (didn’t get dropped for Luke Young once) – can you wonder that he didn’t fancy getting dragged around the fag end of Europe to sit on the bench for a manager, in whom it appeared he had no confidence in?
