Sorry Bigfeller
I normally agree with most things you post and enjoy almost all your contributions (even the long ones!)
However, I cannot agree with you re Grant. You cannot possibly blame the Board for poor performances from the players. Most of the players we are now watching were signed by Grant. If they either a) are not good enough or b) appear not to give a s*** it's got to be down to him.
I've seen school teams and Sunday teams more fired up than Grant's teams! You can't blame the board for his inability to motivate or for his total tactical ineptitude or for his appalling man-management skills.
EXCEPT to say that they boobed in appointing him in the first place, of course, which is undeniable.
I believe, though, that every such appointment is a gamble. The Board could not have even contemplated what a buffoon they were bringing in. He did more damage in a year than it is possible to calculate!
Grant might even be a ncie guy and he talked a lot about how much he cared for NCFC. But the cold truth is that when he was here as a player he was crap and when he was here as manager he was worse. In the annals of history Peter Grant will go down as one of the most damaging individuals ever concerned with our club.
As for Richard Balls, yes he has been inconsistent re Grant and he WAS asking for him to be given more time right up until the end BUT he is a true City fan and given what's gone on as entitled as we all are to be a bit confused!
