I think what we're missing is proper leadership

That could come from a senior player or the management. At the moment it's coming from nowhere (which is just one reason, for me at least, that the senior players should not form the next management...)

We do have players who can perform in this league. They've got too bolshy and too good at getting rid of the gaffer by deciding not to turn up. Someone has got to get them out of that mode of thinking/acting.
