and anyway, the successfulness of a manager goes far beyond whether the players like him and where he might get players from.
Obviously these are important factors, but what about things like tactical awareness, organizational ability, etc?
Its not much good the players liking you if you're unable to tell them how to play or what they should be doing.
Just how many Utd players 'like' Ferguson? Its more likely they play for him because he knows how to motivate and they respect and fear him, not because they want to be his pal
