The only way of emphasising his record to someone who doubts it is to work through it in detail. I could've said "three promotions, kept Bradford up on a shoestring, worked miracles at Wigan", but sod it: it's only fair to explain why I rate him so highly by discussing the circumstances of his jobs so far.
