football then was massively different from waht it is now though.
The game was coming back from the dark days of hooliganism and a general (often way over stated) bad reputation.
Crowds were much much smaller than they are now, sky money was a pittance compared to the current sums.
In short it wasn't really an industry rife with wealthy investers, or one that people thought they could make money from.

Clubs tended to be bought by fans, or at least local people with some kind of connection. There were no Roman's or Thai prime ministers qeueing up to get invlolved as they are now.
IF we got back into that position i doubt we'd fold, someone would take the opportunity, probably from outside of Norfolk.
Back then, football just was not on these peoples radar and saving a club like ours would never cross their minds.
Also remember the reputation that the game had at the time, and the financial climate. Football was affecting communities less then, not like it is now, and banks would have no care at all for the future of a team, but would be simply interested in reducing their own financial risks by calling in the assests to pay a debt.
