Good news for him too.
Mum is 52. Normally they say less then 65 for transplant suitability but that varies massively according to the person.
15% function is, I believe, better than what you get from dialysis. I guess that what they're trying to do is support the function by a 'light' dialysis regime.
Good luck to him.
Best bit of advice mum had was you dialyse to live, not live to dialyse.
