John Hartson Talking About Going Out On Loan...

This is a direct quote from his autobiograpy, page 17 to be exact, wne Coventry initially wanted him on loan...

"...there is no way I would sign for less than a proper contract. If he could not provide that, I would be better off staying where I was...sign on loan, and you are on a hiding to nothing. If you do well and you keep them up, they don't need you anymore. If you flop, you are back where you started..."

Hopefully his attitude has changed!
