confirms that. Why do us Brits have to wind ourselfs up about nothing every now and again.
I remember when we had a Portuguese Deli open in Thetford a few years back (the first overtly foreign shop to open in town). I went in there a few times found them all very pleasant even if the food was a bit stinky for my tastes. Then rumours started going around town that they'd put a sign up in the window saying "no English allowed" No-on questioned the rumour and I heard it from everyone. It was completely false and the shop owner had to print a statement in the local rag saying it was untrue. I still know people who claim to have seen this sign. The mind boggles.
