Joe Royle
Paul Jewell
Mike Newell
Paul Ince
Neil Warnock

You can never be sure a managerial appointment will work however.

Its always good to take a manager on the up, rather than for example Glenn Hoddle, Peter Taylor or the like who seem to be on the decline
