He kept Bradford in the First Division after Chris Kamara staggeringly proved even worse at management than punditry, then took them up, and then miraculously kept them up.
OK, his spell at Sheffield Wednesday didn't work out, but he took Wigan up, built a really good team in his first season and then took them to a Cup Final. The best candidate on offer IMO.
