Too much emphasis on work rate

And not enough on technical ability. It's the s**te that's been thrown down in the coaching manuals it seems, where stamina and work rate is valued higher than technical ability. Yet football is all about technical ability! First touch and pass and movement is what football is all about, not long distance runners in the middle of the park who couldn't trap a football to save their lives. By all means have big cloggers at centre back, but nowhere else. To play at Championship level you need technical ability in spades, and sadly our central midfield lack technical ability so badly... Appalling. Oh for an Ian Crook.
