Oi, you. How many people globally partake in Rugby League?
A few grubby northeners (and even then only a narrow section of the M62 corridor) and a few Aussies (and even then, only really Victoria).
I love Cricket, but I'd be hard pushed to describe it as a global sport.
The fact is, if you look at genuinely worldwide sports (Athletics, for instance), their record is generally worse than Britain's.
