"We are not going to sell to a foreign investor, ever."
And Doncaster, in reply to another fan's email:
"Why exactly would any foreign investor want to 'invest' money in a football club that they had no emotional ties to? If the answer is 'to make money', then they would not be increasing the amount of money to be made available for the player budget, but reducing it! If the answer is not 'to make money', then why would on earth would they do it?
Which would immediately rule out us emulating Portsmouth, or Blackpool, to name just two. Above all, what concerns me is the board's desire to maintain our uniquely cuddly image at all costs: we are so homepun, so family friendly, would they even consider it if someone came forward with any kind of different approach?
