Of course it has an adverse effect!

At least 40% of ST sales each year doesn't go towards the team: it goes towards paying off the securitisation loan. And the club presently owes so much it is being forced into selling off its best players. ND told us that all the money from the Earnshaw, Etuhu and Safri sales would go to Grant - but it didn't. Most of it went towards making ends meet. A club with more of a focus on footballing activities wouldn't have such ginormous non-footballing costs (50% of our wage bill, FFS!) - and wouldn't now be in a position where we can only afford one loan. If we're lucky.
