So if a player

is not very good we are not permitted to say so because if we do we are making hima 'scapegoat'?

What absolute rubbish. Doherty has turned in countless inadequate performances since joining Norwich City. He has made far too many terrible errors which have cost goals. He gives away fra too many free kicks owing to his clumsy, awkward movement. It is plain that he is not good enough for this level. Spurs fans I know were delighted and relieved when we signed him

In an odd sort of way I feel for him. He tries and it cannot be nice to know that a lot of fans think you are a poor player. But hey he has lots of money and Grant thinks he's 'terrific' so that's ok, then.
