look at the clubs who actually got promotion, watford aside (who had a very good youth side). Shefield were not a small side and spent high on both transfers and wages, sunderland spent millions and so did b'ham.
The championship is changing, yes small sides can do well but with average players commanding high transfer fees it does cause problems for clubs like us.
This is where the youth team should come in, watford produced some very exiting young players either through their own acadamy or by bringing them in. That is our only option now. PG and Doom caster are right that we cant compete with charlton, shef utd etc, but we should expect norwich to.
