The Wrath's Cassandra

This time last year O'Hara that if promotion were not achieved assets would be sold. And despite all the protestations that they didn't want to do it the club did indeed sell its two most saleable assets. With Doncaster, as everyone will recall, hinting that in some way Derby's approach to Earnshaw was improper.

In January 2006, also amid protestations that they really didn't want to do it, Ashton was sold, the suggestion from the club being that Ashton himself had forced their hand. Not so. The club was in the midst of a cashflow crisis and had no choice. But it's always easier to blacken the name of a player who has given good service to the club rather than admit your own responsibility.

Now we have Doncaster hinting that Grant is under scrutiny. In some way I think the board almost need a manager under pressure because that deflects attention from the real problem which is that we have an inexperienced Chief Executive with no background in finance and who is a weak negotiator and a board that spend all their time thinking about pies.

I'm going to keep banging on about this even though no-one seems to care, because I do care.
I know repeated ranting on message boards doesn't help because no-one pays any attention
