the thing is though

sources close to the club, even NW himself can get these things wrong. I have a "source" close to the club who I haven't actually spoken to for a couple of years (so no longer a source really) and he would tell me things which I have no reason to believe were a lie but they never actually happened.

There seems to be so many things to go wrong with signing a player that you can never say "we will be signing so an so" with any degree of certainty untill the signiture is on the contract.
