there are other problems. The lack of a goalscoring midfielder (a problem since Francis left) is just as big. In fact the two problems complement each other - teh lack of a goalscoring midfielder makes it hard to play Hucks up front witha big striker as one of a front 2 (as we did for most of the Championship-winning season).
Having a small striker as our main goalscoring threat 9a problem since we replaced Ashton with Earnshaw) also makes Hucks more of a problem in this regard. If you want to make best use of Hucks the big striker role is crucial (Crouch/Iwan/Svenny in the Championship winning season). A midget-type striker is far less important.
So it is a problem right now that the squad we have does not complement Hucks and vice versa.
