If What the senior PC bloke just said on the wireless is true, that the kid was already under water and not visible when the PC's arrived. Then they were bang on. They had no specialist kit, and to risk more than one casualty would be nothing short of stupid. having dived in uk lakes myself, believe me you would have no chance of seeing anything. They were right to leave him. if he had gone under he would almost definitely be dead anyway. Besides it would be f**king cold just jumping in there like that.
