ambition
last night 2,000 NCFC fans spent plenty of money , took time off work etc to watch their team play against Charlton and they must have had every rightto expect that the team ( guided by the manager ) would have gone out trying to win the game and had some attacking intent
Howver the team ( led by PG ) was blatantly set up to try and gaina point at best . To my mind , Grant was saying that Charlton are better than us , but if we can frustarte you and get a point then great - England vs Israel anyone
He leaves our top goalscorer and our latest scorer ( confident now ) on teh bench and plays a front man who is yet to score - probably because he runs around a lot , the midfield is loaded with tacklers rather than creation and defence sits deep inviting pressure
Surely NCFC are not team that plays this way , the fans last night did not see a match , they saw Charlton overrun us until they scored - only a matter of time . You knew exactly what would happen once the team was announced
NCFC fans should not accept games where teh team is happy to accept a point , if we go at opposition and lose then people accept that , what I cannot accept is that we go into a game expecting to lose and play to avoid that
There is no doubt , he will do similar on Saturday and being Wolves we will lose late on , as we always do there e. We need to put pressure onto them ( they are low on confidence , the fans are booking ) and use OUR strengths - not negate theirs
If Grant keeps playing in this manner then we will pootle along in lower mid table , we need more ambition and belief
