Trouble is, it becomes a self-fulfilling idea, particularly when they spend loads of money they haven't got on players, like this summer. Let's not forget that there was realistic talk of financial meltdown if they didn't get promoted last season, and we all now know the Prem is no route to financial riches if you're only there one season...
When they go down again, they're going to be f**ked.
