Sorry, when I read your first sentence

I thought it was going to be a rant addressed to quite a few foreign players in the Prem. As it goes, I believe that most of the world's best players are 'foreign' and if we wish to see their skills the Prem is the place to best achieve it.
If players are good enough to wear an England shirt (Lampard, Gerrard, Beckham) then they should be able to play in any Prem team. If not (Dyer, James, et. al) then they will struggle to secure a team place in the big 4. It just means that we do not have close to 11 English world class players. Wright-Phillips is a good example - he has improved his game to the point of being a Chelsea regular, that improvement has brought him an England place.
