The government actually passed a bill recently about the Gherkin.

It's now law, punishable by death, that any TV series/film/one-off filmed anywhere near london, or even starring someone with a vaguely London accent, has to include at least one five-second sky-line shot including the Gherkin, even if events in the remainder of the presentation are actually occuring nowhere near it.
