which is the beginning of the end for the game

As much as football thinks the TV money is the be and end all they need fans in the ground.

When your normal fan stops going its a problem.

Initially its ok as you get more 'new' fans in, but eventually you'll get more of then new than the hardcore.

WHen that happens the atmosphere in the grounds starts to reduce. This impacts the enjoyment of the new fans, and the TV viewers.
Think of the best games on the box, they are ,almost without exception, those played to full noisy houses.
When that noise starts to go, the enjoyment levels drop.
Subscription drops, TV revenue drops, and it all starts to go down the s**tter rapidly from there.
