My support to the player more than the...team?

Honestly I don't understand and I don't agree too, what's the meaning of that? If Daryl Sutch, Rob Newman, Malky MacKay or Gary Holt come back to Carrow Road to play for another team, I still want Norwich to win, which is I support the "team" more than player, not the opposite side. Hope it's clear
