what he did was a lose lose situation

Murray came in ill, played badly, lost us a goal, feels even worse and is now mentally and physically dodgy for saturday.

If Spillane came in and lost us a goal, he would at least be match fitter and wiser for the next time.

as it is he is kicking his heels and feeling that the manager would rather play a 50% Murray than a 100% spillane - wouldn't you take that personally?
