Ins and Outs - another view
If ya wanna feel gloomy - the squad was too small last season. We've brought nine senior players in, and shipped ten out. So it's still probably too small.
But looked at in more detail - things do look cheerier.
Of the nine we've brought in, something like 6 (Marshall, Strihavka, Russell, Otsemobor, Cureton, Brellier) are likely to be first-teamers, give or take. The other three (Smith, Murray, Gilks) are probably back-up (and maybe not Smith...).
Whereas of the outs - only four were anywhere near the first team (Etuhu, Safri, Hughes, Earnshaw). (And one of them was Hughes...)
The other six, (Henderson, Thorne, Louis-Jean, McVeigh, Gallacher, Jarvis) weren't even back-up, frankly. Just dead weight and practise for Reynolds.
Add Chadwick and Brown to the mix, and we *ought* to have a better squad than last year. Particularly if Cureton can go anywhere near replacing Earnie's goals.
I'm revising up my guess for where we'll finish, on the basis of all this....
