Earnie Will Be Missing Norwich Already, I Bet...
He enjoyed it here and loved playing for us. He had x2 managers that let him play to his strengths and team mates that appreciated that. Every other week he played in front of 24'000 people and we loved him to bits, he was one of the main men, there was little or no pressure on him and he responded...
Derby are a club with big ambitions and fans brought up on more than their fair share of legends, they've won league titles and been in a European Cup semi final, they've had Clough & Taylor and players like Todd, McFarland, Mackay and Charlie George in the past, plenty of heroes. They're aching for some morew success and simple Prem survival won't hack it for them, and, whilst they spend the time in the Prem to get the income to get the decent players, they'll expect the current lot to sweat blood to achieve it.
One great talent that they currently have, Giles Barnes, seems a luxury at the moment and isn't getting the games , perhaps for that reason. As with Hucks, we indulged Earnie, I wonder if Derby will have the same patience and attitude with him?
