to add to the atmosphere and excitement of a goal

when the away team score - no music, a dull announcers voice just fans cheering leads to a less than impressive celebration

but when the home team scores, music is blasted out, an enthusiastic announcement of the scorers name and a cheer from the crowd, leads to more of an atmosphere, its all psychological.
