strength in depth

it's the one thing we've always been short of. We had a better 1st XI and a slightly bigger squad last year, but that's cos we were in the premiership. And it still wasn't strong enough in depth. So I reckon this year worthy needs to have 22 players who we would be confident starting matches with as an absolute minimum. Thats 5 more than we have now.

Getting rid of Eddy is the only thing which i don't understand - I suppose maybe he was getting too big for his boots and tried to force worthy's hand on a new contract, but although i don't know for sure i won't be too quick to judge worthy on that one.

MLJ Jarrett and Thorne are all good signings. As were Charlton, Safri and Helveg last year. Doherty appears to have been 'broken in' now and is starting to look good value for money. And i'm sort of disappointed to see the back of jonson because i'm sure he'd have found his feet eventually. So i have faith that worthy knows how to work in the transfer market if nothing else. One of the best ways to get a bargain is to bring in a player that no-one thinks is any good and to then bring out the best in him. Look at Holt, Eddy, even Hucks (relatively speaking) - before they joined people could have had their doubts.

The season hasn't started yet and worthy has plenty of time to make his move.Even after the first league game he'll still have time to find the right players to bring in. And he knows what he's doing.
