The season hasn't started

My boys

One should not read too much into yesterday's result. Given Huckerby and Smith were injured, and that Cureton, Strihavka, Martin, and God knows who else had spent all week soiling themselves, we went into the game missing virtually our entire first choice attack.

The season starts when some of the above can get on the pitch close to full fitness. In other words, yesterday was damage limitation. A point and a clean sheet was as much as we could expect - and very encouraging too.

I have no idea what will happen this season, but I have been encouraged by the events of the summer. The dross and the disinterested have gone. Let's hope Grant's new team can actually start playing together sooner rather than later.
