Are Saints really likely contenders?

All week in papers and message board people have been saying Saints are likely contenders. I may be proved wrong, but I don't see them as any better than us and possibly worse. They have lost top players and not replaced them, they have even more weakness at CB than we do and there is a lot of instability around the board. Any team in this league can put a good season together but Southampton can't be judged on last year's performance.

I'm probably a bit biased here because all my family are Saints supporters.

That said, next Saturday is a big test. When we played them last year we looked uniterested, I expect better this time.
