The way I see it is that Mills and Davenport will sign. The latter on an initial loan deal. So there will be plenty of fighting for the defensive slots.

Shakell, Doherty, Mills, Davenport, Dublin, Spillane (at a push) and Halliday all for the Centre Back position.

Mills, Ostemobor and CB for right back

Drury, Lappin and Mills for left back

That's enough cover. A great mixture of experience and youth.
