There is also this scenario
Carter has one year left on his contract but WBA have a 1 year option too so that improves their bargaining position in terms of a fee. Get him on a season long loan then, ifhe proves his worth, he will be either a free agent or in his last year if WBA take up their option. that would reduce any fee making it a decent piece of business.
