New squad
I've been following the ins/outs of our squad over the summer with interest, as has been mentioned before, it all seems quite similar to when worthy came in, swept away all the deadwood and put in place a squad that would serve us well for the following three years.
I think we're in a similar sit-u-ation at the minute, there's been so many changes to the squad of late that I think it'll take at least a year or so for the players to build up a decent understanding (and to work out which of the new boys will settle and who will fall by the wayside).
There seems to be a slightly different tack being taken by Grant (than worthy). Worthy tended to (when he had the backing - and early on in his tenure) push the boat out for the best players he could for the starting 11 and hope that we didn't get injuries - worked for the promotion season, but caught us out more often than not.
Grant has assembled a stronger squad, but a weaker looking starting 11. I do like the fact that he seems to be placing a much greater emphasis on team spirit.
As has been mentioned loads I think we still need cover at CB (although I think 1 good player would do it - we can use Dion as cover & Doh if we really need to).
I'm reasonably optimistic this season, I think we'll start slowly and improve as the starting 11 beds down.
