One question that does need asking is
WHY did the club leave signing Robert Earnshaw until the very last moment of the transfer window, thus forcing them to put a minimum release clause in? We were told how much he disliked Bryan Robson, how eager he was to get away, how much he was looking forward to helping Norwich get back to the Premiership etc. Had we tried to sign him a week or so before, we could have agreed a deal without all this minimum release fee nonsense.
